Resumen

Antecedentes: la endometriosis es un trastorno ginecológico común que afecta a hasta el 10% de las mujeres en edad reproductiva, equivale a aproximadamente 170 millones. Además, esta afección está estrechamente relacionada con la infertilidad, afectando al 50% de mujeres que experimentan este problema.

Objetivo: describir la infertilidad asociada a la endometriosis

Resultados: los factores de riesgo ambientales asociados a la endometriosis, como el consumo de alcohol y la exposición a disruptores endocrinos, han sido ampliamente investigados, mostrando vínculos con la enfermedad debido a sus efectos en los niveles hormonales y los receptores de estrógenos. El consumo de carne roja también se asocia con un mayor riesgo debido a su influencia en los niveles de estrógeno y la inflamación. En cuanto al tratamiento, la cirugía previa a la FIV beneficia a las pacientes con endometriosis infiltrante profunda, mejorando las tasas de embarazo y nacimientos vivos. Las terapias hormonales, antes y después de la cirugía, son efectivas, y la transferencia de embriones congelados mejora las tasas de nacimientos vivos. La Medicina Tradicional China es una opción segura y efectiva para tratar la infertilidad en pacientes con endometriosis, prometiendo un futuro alentador en su manejo.
